Follow eventHello all,
After having such a good time travelling to different splunches around the country it's struck me that there hasn't been a splunch in Manchester for quite some time so, after some encouragement, you are all cordially invited to the Manchester Splunch on Saturday 28th October from 15.00 at The Salisbury, Wakefield St (just outside Oxford Road Station).
If you're an experienced wammer, looking to find your feet in the 'scene' a bit more, or just curious about wet and messy fun then come and say "hi", I'll buy you your first drink!
For those wishing to stay for food, please let me know and I will book a table somewhere nearby and affordable a few weeks before the date.
1. What can I expect from a splunch?
If you've never been before, a splunch is a 'splosher's munch', basically a chance to get together with people who share similar interests for a drink, a chat, and usually a bite to eat later. You can stay for as long or as little as you like (provided you're not being a dick) and meet new people, catch up with old friends, or just enjoy the company.
2. Will there be any getting messy at the splunch?
No. This is a pub in the city centre on a Saturday afternoon, not a fetish club or event. Anyone breaking this rule will be barred from attending any gatherings or events I run in the future and other organisers will be informed. Whatever you want to get up to afterwards with other consenting adults in private is up to you.
Similarly, the dress code is casual/everyday wear; no fetish gear of any kind. See above re: pub in the city centre on a Saturday afternoon.
3. Are there any rules I need to be aware of?
Although a splunch is a relaxed meet-up there are a couple of little points of etiquette that will help ensure everyone involved has as good a time as possible. Anyone not abiding by these will be either given a warning or asked to leave and barred from attending gatherings or events I run in the future and other organisers will be informed.
- Be respectful
Please use the names people have asked to be called by and the pronouns they use, not everyone wants to hear "MessyCustardSlut69, what was your order again?!" shouted across the pub, for example. Be polite, be courteous, be chill.
- Give people space if asked
Part of a good splunch is getting to chat to new people but please be aware that other people may have other people they want to catch up with, may want time out to recharge their 'social battery', may want a cigarette etc. Please do not make any attendee feel uncomfortable by following them, monopolising their time, or otherwise intruding on personal space. Anybody who is found to be making another attendee uncomfortable will be either given a warning or asked to leave and barred from attending.... etc etc etc
- No photos
Some people (myself included) may wish to keep their involvement with WAM and kink out of the public eye as much as possible. Please ask if you want to take a photo with somebody or of a group and respect their wishes if they say no. No candid snaps. Warning... asked to leave.... you know the drill by now.
4. That all sounds great! How will I be able to find you?
Further details of how to get to The Salisbury will be in the description box of the events page
I will be in there from about 14.30 with a tin of custard on the table as a marker so come up, say "Hi", and let me know what you want to drink :)
If there are any questions at all either before or on the day please feel free to message me on here and I'll be happy to help.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
Olly
